How do I pack a gift in an environmentally friendly way?

Pakowanie na prezent

Soon we’ll all be hit by the pre-Christmas fever. In addition to a thousand tasks and obligations, you will also find purchases on the list where you can fulfill many gift dreams. The habit of giving gifts or stacking them under a green tree is magical in its own way. Receiving as well as giving a gift touches, connects, and unites the band. Not infrequently, even the smallest and inconspicuous gift can reveal many emotions. If you additionally pack them in beautiful paper and add a few small things, you will emphasize how much passion you put into making them. As a Christmas inspiration, we have put together some ideas on how to pack a Christmas present. Each of them is fast, creative and naturally based on ecology, the beautiful gifts of nature, and the safety of the planet.

WHY CHOOSING AN ECO-PACKAGING MATTERS?

Every decision we make is – more or less – environmentally relevant. With high consumer behavior, mass sales, and Christmas madness, our planet faces a major challenge every year.

Thousands of foil bags, plastic films, adhesive tapes, stickers, and accessories ensure that we produce more and more waste. They decompose for up to 1000 years (!), get stuck in landfills, and damage the flora and fauna.

Looking at environmentally friendly alternatives is the first step in supporting our polluted environment. Just a few simple decisions – such as the choice of biodegradable packaging – will help the planet better meet today’s challenges. So try to pack your Christmas gift in an environmentally friendly way. They are just as glamorous, charming, and beautiful – perfect for a colorful Christmas tree!

HOW TO PACKAGE A GIFT FOR CHRISTMAS? INSPIRATIONS!

Before we present you with some concrete suggestions and ideas, please read our guidelines Below we show you how to easily turn “classic” packaging into environmental packaging. You don’t have to implement all of these proposals right away – even the smallest change and the smallest step is better than sticking to the old, non-ecological methods.

Eco gift packaging is for example:

  • Recycled paper. Today, recycled paper is available on the market, e. g. kraft paper made from other raw materials. Manufacturers therefore always rely on the same material instead of making a different one, which ends up in the wastepaper bin anyway.
  • Waiver of adhesive tape. Instead, use environmentally friendly, safe adhesive or – if possible – bookmark the paper or wrap it with a paper cord.
  • Take the old paper. Do you still have that paper from last year? Don’t throw it away! Instead, stretch or iron and use it during this year’s packaging.
  • Do I really need a package? Many gifts – e. g. cosmetic sets or books – are so aesthetic that a colored cord or a self-created label suffices. The less, the better.

Take advantage of nature. Stroll through the nearby park and collect accessories to serve as decoration. Pine branches, spruce, cranberries or small pine cones cost nothing and will present themselves wonderfully on your gift.

ECO GIFT PACKAGING IDEAS FROM SO LINEN!

It’s time to get serious– it’s time for eco-friendly gift packaging! We have put together some inspirations for you that correspond to the spirit of zero-waste or eco-friendly and are just as glamorous as ready-made, colorful bags or plastic ribbons.

  1. Buy classic, grey, and uncolored paper. This roll is made of waste paper and is fully recyclable. Buy colored pencils or markers and draw your own pattern on a smooth surface – stars, snowflakes, ribbons. Wrap the wrapping paper and stick a white card on which you write the recipient’s name.
  2. Get out the paper breakfast bags. Put a small present inside and tie the top with a jute cord. The result is a “sweet” that you can also decorate with a fresh cinnamon stick or a dried orange slice.
  3. Wyczyść słoik po ogórkach lub buraczkach. Zdejmij etykietę i wyparz go porządnie. Do środka włóż swój własny upominek – np. własnoręcznie stworzone pierniczki, konfiturę albo sól do kąpieli. Górę przykryj kawałkiem jutowego materiału, przewiązując go sznurkiem. Na kartce stwórz własną etykietę – z np. dedykacją – i nałóż ją na słoiczek.
  4. You can also wrap the gift in a natural fabric e. g. in a linen kitchen towel, linen drawstring bags, or small samples of linen fabric. Tie them together with a string so that they form a bundle like a Władczykij.
