SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION
In so linen!, we believe that a well-designed product is a one which is useful, simple in every-day maintenance and durable. A product which can be passed from one generation to another. It is also environment-friendly: manufactured without using plastic, in accordance with zero-waste rules, with respect to people who created it and finally, at the end of its life cycle, biodegradable. We do our best to ensure that our linen products are manufactured in the most responsible and environment friendly way possible.

OUR FABRIC
We use French and Belgian linen. Our linen is 100% natural and has no artificial additives, which makes it friendly for our bodies and environment. We buy our linen from leading European producers certified with OECO-TEX certificate. It means that our linen is free from harmful substances, such as: pesticides, chlorophenols, formaldehydes, irritating dyes, forbidden azo dyes, and heavy metals in quantities influencing people and environment.

RESPECT FOR PEOPLE’S WORK
From the very beginning, we were sure that we wanted to know well those who would create bedding, tablecloths and curtains labelled with our brand. We have decided not to enter the wholesale type of production, where bales of material are delivered to big sewing rooms and later ready products are collected. Everything completely impersonally. Instead, we want to make sure that products which enter your home are made in a fair way, in decent conditions, with respect to people’s work and that we can fully endorse them.
We personally know and value each sewer working for us. Most of them sew your products in our sewing room in Warsaw, but we also cooperate with our trusted sewers who work in their own rooms around Warsaw. We truly appreciate people who co-create so linen!, we care for them and for conditions of their work.
We wish to draw some line of connection between you and the person who has created your products, so in your order, you can find a note with a name of the Sewer who has changed raw linen fabric into a tablecloth for a family dinner, crisp bedding for summer nights, or soft linen cloths to cover your dough to grow.

LOCAL SUPPLIERS
In the process of manufacturing our products, we try to cooperate with local suppliers – whenever there is a choice, we choose Polish producers. We wish to support our local entrepreneurs, but also reduce the carbon footprint connected to transport. That is why we order the boxes, in which we send your linen products, from Marta, to print our labels we contact Agnieszka from a printing house located 3 blocks from our office, and our inserts are weaved in a family company from Łódź.
The only exception we make is for the fabric. There are no compromises here. The most important aspect for us is the quality. Unfortunately, Polish producers don’t offer 100% stonewashed linen in 3-meters-wide bales. And this is what we use to sew your seamless bedding. Oh, and the coconut buttons – we adore them, can’t help that. And coconuts have chosen warmer climate 😉

FAIR PRICE POLICY
We price our products fairly. Our prices have been established basing on the price of linen fabric from trusted European producers and on fair costs of labor. Our company is registered in Poland and we pay our taxes there. Our profit margin is set on the level enabling us to further develop our brand.
In our shop, you won’t find seasonal sales, 50% discounts, or popular destocking. We believe in the rule of “buy less buy better”. Our consumer decisions should be conscious, well-thought and based on real needs, not impulsive or caused by promotions.
From time to time, couple of times a year, we offer discounts for our linen products, or free shipping. We wish to treat equally all our clients – those who have trusted us the first day as well as those who waited till the last moment, therefore during our time of special offers we don’t give higher discount over time.

NON-PLASTIC WRAPPING
We pack your order without using plastic. And we’re really proud of that! Our linen products are enwrapped in paper tissue and sent in cardboard boxes. Marketing materials added to the orders are all printed on eco paper, and we tie our products with fabric ribbon.
To protect your linen textiles during shipping, we use eco poly-mailers which, similarly to the stretch wrap used for the bigger orders and covers of shipping labels, are all made of materials from recycling and can be recycled again. This means that our parcels are FULLY RECYCLABLE.

LESS WASTE
Let’s start with the fact that linen is number one when it comes to zero waste plants: it can be used for fabric, oil, or to prepare Polish super food – flaxseed.
We have organized our production in a way to minimize the production and post-production surplus as much as possible. We actually make our products (hand make of course) in Poland only after receiving an order. Such system gives us plenty of flexibility and enables us to make textiles in all sizes, at the same time minimalizing the surplus of products in the storing room.
We economize the fabric during cutting. Products are placed on the fabric to minimize leftovers, which are, by the way, used to make ties for our curtains and bedding. Napkins are made of the squares left from sewing fitted sheets 😉
We hope that, thanks to our transparency and easy access to the information concerning how and where our products are made, you will be able to make conscious and sensible consumer decisions.
