Bedspread with natural vs. polyester filling – the differences you need to know

What we cover ourselves with, what we wrap our bodies with, what touches our skin has an impact both on our well-being and on the environment that deserves attention and care. This idea guided us during the production of the latest novelties – also during the design of quilted bedspreads, which quickly became a bestseller. It is on their example that we will try to prove that not only the outer layer but also the interior, is crucial for our health.
YEAR-ROUND HEROINE – QUILTED BEDSPREAD
When creating a quilted bedspread, we wanted to create the perfect bedding protection that will protect the bedding from dirty, dog paws, spilled coffee, dust, and cat fur. The result of our work is not only an elegant duvet cover but also an excellent alternative to a duvet that will work during the hot summer months. We love its reliability and versatility – it’s thanks to it you can create a light cover in hot summer, and effectively wrap yourself when it’s snowing outside the window. Our quilted bedspreads are sewn from soft stonewashed linen. Inside, you will find a natural, breathable hemp non-woven fabric, which – like linen – is 100% plant-based. This perfect combination makes the bedspread surprisingly light, yet thermoregulatory, hygroscopic, and completely safe for the most demanding skin. In addition, aesthetic and minimalist quilting will work both in a simple Scandinavian bedroom and in an elegant glamorous arrangement. Arranged in rhombus fabric, it is also a wonderful complement to family picnics, sunbathing on the balcony, evening reading books in the open air and garden parties with friends. All this is due to the mesh coating, which makes it easier to get rid of sand grains, pebbles, fine twigs and leaves. Our heart and precision are added to the production of every quilted bedspread – all models are sewn by hand, in Poland, on a special order of Customers, which prevents the accumulation of surplus stock. INTERIOR MATTERS – POLYESTER VS. NATURAL FILLING
On the market you can find a number of cheap bedspreads or quilts, which are produced in mass production, using only artificial fabrics. Their softness and attractive price can put the alertness to sleep, which is why we often (unfortunately) decide on products from this group.
In fact, polyester filling – both in the form of silicone and fine granules – is the source of a number of future ailments. Tests have proven that the artificial environment is a paradise for bacteria, microbes, and mites, which are the main source of respiratory and skin allergies. So if you wake up with a slight rash on your legs, headache, runny nose, or dry cough – maybe the culprit is the tiny bugs that have settled in your pillowcase, duvet, and bedspread. The interior itself also tends to “beat” and “kick”, which causes the pillow to lose its flexibility, not adapt to the body and cause back pain.
Polyester – just like elastane or microfibre – does not provide breathability, does not retain heat, and does not dissipate moisture. Instead, it becomes an impermeable cocoon that infuses the skin and strengthens sweating. Sneaking on such a tarp, you feel the hot temperature even more in the summer and you can not effectively warm up in the winter.
Let’s summarize what “give” us duvets or pillows filled with artificial, recycled plastic:
- Artificial additives – e. g. latex, perfume or PVC,
- Dyed fabrics using chlorine,
- An environment conducive to the multiplication of bacteria and microbes,
- A clumped up interior that does not adapt to the body,
- Mites that can cause allergies, headaches, runny nose and decreased concentration,
- A coating that does not bring fresh air, promotes sweating, and does not wick moisture out.
TO THE RESCUE – BEDSPREAD AND PILLOW WITH NATURAL FILLING

The natural remedy – hemp in this case – does not promote the multiplication of microbes, which will certainly be appreciated by allergy sufferers and lovers of the highest quality products. In addition, hemp – like flax – perfectly wicks away moisture and allows you to maintain the natural body temperature. Thanks to this, it prevents clogging or cooling, wonderfully warming in winter, and creates a light coating in summer. Their production is therefore consistent with the environment and nature that your body needs and appreciates.
