It’s hard to believe, but the New Year is fast approaching and so is a new season filled with trends and interior design flavours. We follow all the announcements with blisters on our faces, looking forward to the fact that the coming year will be marked by love for nature and respect for the planet.

Especially for you, we decided to gather all these upcoming Textile Trends for 2021/2022, indicating what fashionable fabrics are waiting for us in the coming months.

TREND 1: GO NATURAL!

Synthetic materials – led by polyester – contribute to the production of huge emissions of harmful CO2, which in turn affects the ozone hole and climate change. The most dangerous, of course, is microplastic – so-called invisible fibres – which is released both during production and when worn or washed. Studies have shown that an overproduction of it also gets into drinking water, being found in up to 80% of all tap water. From there, harmful ingredients make their way into the oceans and also into our food. To make matters worse, a 2015 study found that polyester production contributed to the production of up to 700 million tons of carbon dioxide annually.

Awareness of the harmfulness of polyester production and increased pro-environmental measures have echoed the trends. Therefore, fashion fabrics are natural fabrics, compatible with the environment, supporting our planet. The latest months will promote thoughtful purchasing decisions and environmentalism. So bring linen bedding, linen tablecloths or linen curtains into your interiors, which are the best proof of your true love for the planet.

Linen is a fabric distinguished by the lowest consumption of water and energy, which is necessary during the production of 1kg of raw material. What’s more – a lot of the water used is based on rainwater, which clearly doesn’t work well in the artificial production of synthetic materials. Keep this in mind when reviewing textile trends for 2021/2022.

TREND 2: BOHO, AH THAT’S YOU!

Boho style originates from the 19th century folk and bohemian culture, where the so-called bohemia emerged. Originally, the term denoted the Parisian bohemia, which consisted of painters, poets and the most creative artists.

Today, boho style is a nod to nature, the environment, and decorations that draw a great deal of inspiration from flora and fauna. No wonder, then, that it is very eagerly used for arranging a wedding hall, terrace or garden.

What’s interesting – when boho style invaded our interiors, no one expected that it would be rooted in trends for so long. As it turned out – we really enjoy bringing the beauty of nature into our homes.

The coming months will continue to go by with wooden flooring, freshly cut flowers, natural brightening and linen pillowcases. We are more and more eager to bring shades of beige, caramel and gold into our four walls, using fabrics created in accordance with fair trade, respect for human labour and the environment, which abounds in the most beautiful landscapes and the most precious raw materials. Our rustic linen collection, inspired by fields full of grain, country cottages and the smell of freshly mown coffee, fits perfectly into the boho trend.

TREND 3: NOTHING NEW, EVERYTHING NEW

This approach has revolutionized the textile industry and is a direct response to the pandemic months. The desire to spread conscious and safe trade has contributed to the use of old materials that deserve a new and different life. Recycling materials or rendering them biodegradable is an extremely innovative approach that goes hand in hand with trying to return to nature’s original wild state.

Reusing old raw materials, objects and fabrics has caused us to rediscover natural resources. Linen is once again part of this trend, as it is one of the few that is completely biodegradable and complies with the less waste philosophy.
