Minimalism – a lifestyle that promotes the idea of having less in order to live more fully – is growing popularity not only in a personal context but also in space design. This concept is entirely consistent with linen accessories that are notable for their simplicity and delicacy. In the new so linen! Blog entry we explain why!
Minimalism in interiors: less is more?
Minimalism in interior design is not just a trend, it is a lifestyle based on the idea of ‘less is more’. In such an interior, every item has its place and purpose and the main colours are white, grey and pastels. As a result the promotion of calmness, order and symmetry, helps to reduce the stress associated with an excess décor, forms and patterns that are commonly found, for example, in glamour style.

At the heart of a minimalist home are natural materials, such as linen which is one of the most splendid and eco-friendly textiles that is the perfect complement to an equally minimalist lifestyle.
Minimalism loves:
- bright colours and pastels,
- symmetry and geometry,
- harmony of patterns and forms,
- simple shapes,
- natural textiles,
- lack of décor.

How do renowned interior decorators use linen in their projects?
It is well-known that interior decorators often opt for linen because of its universality, versatility and, of course, its exclusive aesthetic. It is hardly surprising since linen blends harmoniously with the restrained loft or Scandinavian style, proving that less can be more.
It is not only international decorators such as Marie Kondo or Joanna Gaines who use linen materials to create such spaces. To demonstrate it, we’ve put together a selection of inspirations and arrangements so as to indicate that linen and minimalism make the perfect combination.
